What is BoomType?
BoomType is a free, browser-based typing tutor launched in 2025. It teaches touch typing through structured lessons and timed tests, tracks your WPM and accuracy, and lets you earn shareable certificates — all without requiring an account. It supports typing in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Chinese, making it useful for students, professionals, and kids learning to type.

BoomType is a free, modern typing tutor built around one idea: learning to type shouldn't require a paid course, a sign-up wall, or a clunky desktop app from 2008. You should be able to open a tab, start a lesson in two seconds, and walk away a faster typist.
Our mission
Make touch typing accessible to everyone — students, career switchers, developers, late learners, anyone who types for a living and never formally learned how. Free to learn, free to practice, free to test. No credit card to start, no signup required to take your first test.

What we don't do

A note on the roadmap
BoomType is actively in development. Coming phases add user accounts and cloud sync, a global leaderboard with anti-cheat, gamified practice modes, head-to-head challenges, shareable certificate IDs, and an optional premium tier that removes ads and unlocks advanced analytics.
